Two exhibitions will open at the Factory

On April 27, the Center for creative industries “Factory” will present the project of the Italian artist Maria Assunta Karini “STEM of the Black Grass” and the exhibition “Revolution”, dedicated to the anniversary of the events of 1917.

In the STEM of the Black Grass project (curator - Ilmira Bolotyan), a series of photographs, sculptures and installations in which Maria Assunta Karini analyzes the changes through which a person passing over with an unforeseen disaster will be presented in the Arthaus hall.

The project is based on the documentary book “Chernobyl prayer. Chronicles of the future ”Svetlana Aleksievich, who studied the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The exhibition “Revolution” (the Olivier Hall, until May 21) is an attempt to catch the spirit of the time in which the structure of society was changed and a new visual language was created, as well as rethinking both historical events and the very concept of “revolution” through art - from painting to music and performance.

“An important criterion for selection of work was their novelty, most of the presented works were made specifically for the exhibition. But no less, and maybe a more important factor was the personal attitude of each author to the revolution. Consent with our civil position did not play any role, ”say the curators of the exhibition Sofia Slonim and Dmitry Samodin.
