New Scythians

The set of volunteers in the XIX volunteer archaeological expedition, which this season will take place under the name "New Scythians".

We will work sequentially at two facilities: from July 3 to 16 at the Farm of Titchikh Liskinsky district. And when the summer heat becomes unbearable, we will move 200 km to the north - to the God's sagged holy Zadonshchina, where from July 17 to 30, our camp will be in the village of Nizhny Cossack Lipetsk Region.

Titchikha is known for its powerful settlement of the time of the Russian Kaganate, but we will study the neighboring settlement of the Scythian era.
Lower Cossack is famous as a place of power. It is located in a picturesque Zadonsky reserve at the geological monument of nature Don conversations, near the Rusali Key waterfall, across the river from the Safari Park Kudykin Gora.

In this place, Don, carrying its waters from north to south, makes a sharp loop called acute onions, and rushes north. The expedition will be based near Yastrebinovka - the battlefield of the Emir Temarlan troops with the commanders of Tokhtamysh in 1395. In the first centuries of our era, 3 km from this area was the capital of the Huns. The main task of the Zadonsky stage of the expedition is comprehensive archaeological intelligence of acute Luke.
