The Russian Minister for North Caucasus Affairs Lev Kuznetsov, having declared an income of 582 million rubles, topped the list of government members by income level in 2016. The Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev earned the least in 2016 - 5.6 million rubles.

According to information on the income and property of federal officials, Kuznetsov's income in 2016 increased 12-fold to 582 million rubles from 47.9 million rubles in 2015. The income of the wife of the Minister for North Caucasus Affairs in 2016 increased three-fold to 32.7 million rubles from 10.9 million rubles in 2015. Thus, the total income of the Kuznetsov family in 2016 was 614 million rubles, which is also the highest figure among the families of government members.

The press service of the Russian Ministry of the North Caucasus explained that "the minister's income, reflected in the published information on income for 2016, was received as a result of income from deposits, as well as transactions with real estate, which was declared earlier. In particular, expensive real estate in Moscow was sold."

Last year's leader in government income, Abyzov, declared an income of 520 million rubles in 2016, compared to 455 million rubles in 2015 (there is no information about his wife in the declaration for 2016; in 2015, his wife declared an income of 678,000 rubles). Abyzov divorced his wife, a source in the government apparatus told Vedomosti. Therefore, his wife's information is not in his declaration.

Third place in terms of income for 2016 among members of the government was taken by Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev with an income of 356 million rubles (his wife declared an income of 834,000 rubles) against 153 million rubles in 2015 (his wife's income then was 843,000 rubles).
