The participants of the rally of truckers in St. Petersburg were released from the police

All detainees after a rally organized in support of the strike by truckers were released from the police department. This was reported by the OVD-Info with reference to the human rights activist Dinar Idrisov.

Among the detainees were the chairman of the “Association of Carriers of Russia” (OPR) Andrei Bazhutin and the coordinator of the St. Petersburg branch of OPR Sergey Vladimirov.

Participants were charged with an “unauthorized automotive racket” under part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia (organization or a public event without submitting a notification in the prescribed manner of a public event) and non -discovery of the police.

The action in the protocols was designated as a “rally”, reports “OVD-info”.

In the Auto Rounder on Nevsky Prospekt, which was conducted by OPR, they planned to take part 20-30 cars. On April 14, Vladimirov told RBC that the application for an ACR campaign did not submit.

The strike of Russian carriers began at the end of March 2017 and continues to this day. Participants in the strike oppose the Plato system, through which the federal routes are charged from heavy trucks.

Earlier, the government decided to increase the fares of heavy trucks on federal routes by 25% from April 15, abandoning the initial plan to double the tariff.
