In the capital of Mari El Yoshkar-Ola on April 14, the flash mob “ For PE EREMEN” was held, which was organized by users of social networks, the 7x7 correspondent reports.

Immediately after the information about the detention of the former head of the region Leonid Markelov on April 13, a proposal appeared in one of the VKontakte groups in honor of changes in the republic to launch balloons from the embankment. It is known that at first the organizers of the action planned to celebrate the deliverance of Mari El from the eccentric and authoritarian head of the region. However, soon the main idea of ​​the flash mob changed: they decided that it was more correct to declare the need for changes in the life of the republic after Markelov’s departure.

The proposal to take part in the flash mob was supported by 500 people.

According to the approximate estimates of one of the participants in the flash mob, the blogger “ 7x7 ”, political scientist Konstantin Strokin , in the evening of the 14th, about 150 people came to the Arkhangelsk settlement. Strokin called a street action in his blog in essence unauthorized. At the same time, according to his observation, numerous police representatives who watched the flash mob did not interfere with its holding and even took part in it.

The head of the regional branch of the “Civil Platform” Andrei Smyshlyaev said that he verbally coordinated the holding of a flash mob with the police, the Yoshkar-Ola administration and the regional Ministry of Justice. The politician said that activists of the regional department of the party and citizens brought more than 200 balls to an area. On April 6, Vladimir Putin deprived Markelov’s positions with the wording “of his own free will,” the head of state said that Markelov wanted to “change the place of work”.

The ex-head of Mari El Leonid Markelov was detained on April 13 during an interrogation at the FSB. On the same day, searches were carried out - in the house of the government of the republic, in the Moscow apartment of the daughter of Markelov and the apartment of his former wife. On April 14, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Markelov until June 12. He is accused of receiving a 235 millionth bribe from the entrepreneur and deputy of the State Council Mari El Nikolai Krivash , the former owner of a large agricultural holding Akashevo. The investigation is considered the head of the television company 12 Region LLC Natalia Kozhanova . Earlier, 7x7 wrote about the business of Krivash and Kozhanova. Kozhanova was also arrested until June 12.
