The police detained supporters of Alexei Navalny, who staged an anti-corruption rally in Sochi. According to the "Caucasian Knot", eight people were brought to the police station, including the correspondent of the "Sochi News" publication, who filmed the rally.
The protesters were detained when they unfurled posters “Is Medvedev a thief?”, “Navalny is a liar?”, “Medvedev is a corrupt official?”, “Navalny is lying?”
Sochi News reports that the journalist of the publication was soon released from the police. Administrative protocols are drawn up for the rest of the detainees.
The action took place on the territory of the Sochi "Hyde Park", specially allocated by the mayor's office for mass events. The organizers of the action tried to coordinate it with the authorities. The mayor's office proposed to postpone the action to another time, and then refused to agree on the pretext that the organizers responded to this proposal too late.
Those who gathered in the park simply talked, they did not take loudspeakers with them, Vitaly Nebieridze, a Sochi resident, who came to today's rally and had previously served eight days of arrest for organizing protests on March 26 in the city, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
