
The Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko in the capital of Saudi Arabia met with King Salman Ben Abdel Aziz Al Saud as part of an official visit to Riyadh, TASS reports.
"King Salman Ben Abdel Aziz Al Saud spoke out for the further development of Russian-Saudi relations in all directions and expressed the hope that in the near future the results of such an interaction will be visible ... The priority area of joint efforts was and remains an increase in interaction in the trade and economic sphere," the press service of the SF.
Earlier on Sunday, Matvienko held negotiations with the chairman of Majlis Ash-Shura (advisory council, the legislative body of the country) Abdalla al-Shekhom. The photo shows that, unlike women politicians from Western countries , she covered her head with a handkerchief.
The main topic for discussion was Syria. According to RBC , Matvienko condemned the US missile blow to the Syrian airfield "Visiting the Saudis supporting him."
"We do not want the reasons for the invasion of other states. We believe that the bombing of Syria cruise missiles is a gross violation of international law, an act of aggression against a sovereign state," Matvienko said.
At the same time, she called the cooperation of Russia and Saudi Arabia a "factor in stability" in the Middle East.

The focus of her negotiations with the leadership of Saudi Arabia is the development of bilateral relations and the topic of struggle against international terrorism.
