Otomo Josihide created groups Ground Zero, Otomo Yoshihide New Jazz Quintet and Otomo Yoshihide New Jazz Orchestra , participated in the publication of more than four hundred albums, collaborated with such musicians as Bill Lasvell, Kit Row Ferrari, Alfred "23" Hart, Peter Brtzmann, Mats Gustafsson and Evan Parker.
In addition, Otomo Josihide writes music for films, participates in theatrical productions, gives lectures, releases books and essays, and is engaged in charitable activities.
This summer, he will become an invited director of the grandiose international art festival in Sapporo.
A year ago, Otomo Josihide performed in a “house” in a duet with the Norwegian drummer Paul Nilssen Law. For the upcoming concert, the Japanese musician prepared a solo program “in two departments, in one of which he will play on the guitar, and in the other - on the DJ turntables.”
