At a meeting of the Republican Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, Kadyrov instructed to "quickly respond to any negative facts, to achieve their elimination, not limited to public statements."

"The meeting participants noted the existence of a massive information attack on Chechnya from the so -called human rights international organizations. The most unworthy methods and forms are used, reality is distorted, attempts are made to denigrate our society, lifestyle, traditions and customs," Kadyrov wrote. "People without shame and conscience will always speak the language of lies and slander."

At the same time, Kadyrov admitted that "in the late 90s and the beginning of the two thousands" in Chechnya, people went missing. "Their number was calculated by the thousands. Today, such a practice is completely outlined," the head of the republic said.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the audit had begun at the requests of Novaya Gazeta and the Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova for the persecution of homosexuals in Chechnya. "The General Prosecutor's Office received requests for the Commissioner for Human Rights in Moskalkova and the New Gazeta publication on the fact of the alleged mass abduction of people in Chechnya. Currently, the prosecution authorities of the Chechen Republic and law enforcement agencies of the region have been organized on the fact of the alleged abduction of people."
