Dmitry Buchenkov, a defendant in the Bolotnaya case, has had his house arrest extended

The Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow extended the house arrest of Dmitry Buchenkov, a person involved in the Bolotny case, for 6 months until October 6. This was reported on Twitter by the international human rights group Agora, citing lawyer Svetlana Sidorkina. This decision was made during the preliminary hearings in the Buchenkov case.

Buchenkov was taken into custody on December 2, 2015 on suspicion of involvement in the events of May 6, 2012 on Bolotnaya Square, where, according to his own statement, he was not. Buchenkov claims that during the events on Bolotnaya Square he was in Nizhny Novgorod with relatives, and returned to Moscow only on May 6 in the evening.

He was charged under Part 1 of Art. 318 of the Criminal Code (use of violence against police officers) and part 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code (participation in riots).
