"Make a movie"

Back in the 1920s, Walter Benjamin predicted that the reduction of the means of production of images would turn masses from consumers into art producers. But video technology gave even more - opportunities not so much for self -entertainment as for self -presentation, self -education, self -government, self -identification and self -reflection. It will be possible to see how all these correct words are embodied in a specific practice at the Film Festival, which will begin tomorrow, April 19, at the Bakery 9. We chose five festival works that are most interesting from the point of view of activism and political (in the Devil's sense) media use. But besides them, at the bakery 9 they will show a lot of interesting things - for example, the film by Dmitry Kovylgelsky about the dissertation or the old (2010) “Confession of the Ecopirate” about vigilants from the Society for the Protection of the Sea Fauna.
