The defendant in the case of a terrorist attack in the metro of St. Petersburg, Abror Azimov stated at a meeting of the Basmann District Court of Moscow, which was not directly involved in the crime. This is reported by Interfax.

“I agree with the arrest, but I didn’t say this that I was involved in the explosion,” said Azimov. “There is my participation, but not direct.” The detainee claimed that he received teams from an unknown person and did not know that he was participating in the organization of the crime. "They gave me a team. I did not realize that I was participating in the preparation of the attack," Azimov said.

Azimov added that he intends to explain his position later. “Then we will understand,” he said.

For his part, the investigator in court stated that the detainee confirmed his participation in the preparation of the attack.

Before the court’s meeting, the lawyer of the detainee Armen Zadoyan told reporters that Azimov pleaded guilty in full.

Judge Arthur Karpov granted the application of the investigation to arrest. “To choose a measure of restraint in the form of a detention in the form of a detention of Azimov until June 3,” he announced his decision.

Meanwhile, the Moscow Komsomolets reports that the brother of the arrested, 28-year-old Akram Azimov was detained in Kyrgyzstan. Azimov is suspected of paragraph "b" of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code (a terrorist act that entailed the death of a person) and part 2 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal circulation of explosives committed by a group of persons).

On Monday , the FSB announced the detention of Azimov in the Odintsovo district. He was called one of the organizers of the St. Petersburg attack. It is claimed, Azimov trained the alleged suicide bomber Jalilov. The detainee was transferred to the TFR.

However, on April 17, he purchased a couple of new cell phones and SIM cards. Having activated one of the cards, he issued his whereabouts and was detained, Kommersant writes.

Azimov was born in Jalalabad in 1990. A source in law enforcement agencies of the South of Kyrgyzstan said that after reaching 18 years, Azimov received a Kyrgyz passport. According to preliminary data, immediately after that he went to Russia. According to the source, Azimov constantly lived and worked in Russia, came to his homeland no more than once a year, and in 2013 received Russian citizenship.

The Consulate General of Russia in the Kyrgyz city of Osh confirmed that "Azimov is listed in the database of citizenship through the Consulate General.
