Stanislav Cherchesov is dissatisfied with Kokorin and admits the return to the Arshavin national team

The head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov commented on the possible return to the national team of the Kairat striker Andrei Arshavin.

“Many players of that generation are still going on the field. These are Arshavin, and Pavlyuchenko, and Zyryanov, and Zhirkov, the Berezutskiy and Ignashevich brothers are playing for CSKA. It is impossible to specifically say“ yes ”or“ no ”,” Cherchesov said on the air of the Russian Football program on the Russia 24 channel.

The last time Andrei Arshavin played for the national team on August 15, 2012 in a friendly match against Cot-D'Ivoir. In 2016, the 35-year-old veteran transferred to the Kazakhstan Kairat, for which he has since spent 38 matches and scored 11 goals.

Cherchesov also expressed dissatisfaction with the level that was recently demonstrated by one of the leaders of the national team, Alexander Kokorin.

“He moved from Dynamo to Zenit, these are other requirements, other partners, another internal state. At the moment, the level that Kokorin has is not completely satisfied with us. Therefore, it was not by chance that it was not at the last gathering. We have a month before the end of the championship, so we don’t delete anyone. I probably know it better than many,” the mentor noted.

The Russian team will hold the nearest official matches as part of the Confederations Cup, which from June 17 to July 2, 2017 will be accepted by Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi. The Russians in group A will meet with Portugal, New Zealand and Mexico.
