Berezkin confirmed plans to buy RBC

The owner of the ESN group Grigory Berezkin confirmed that he was negotiating the purchase of a media holding of RBC. He reported this to Republic.

The main negotiations are now underway about the company's debt to the structures of businessman Mikhail Prokhorov. As noted by Berezkin, the positions of the parties come closer. He added that he does not plan to attract credit funds to buy a media holding.

Berezkin also rejected the information of Vedomosti that he plans to sell the Sailfish operating system “Rostelecom” to find money for the purchase of RBC. The businessman noted that with this asset he “has yet to work”, and negotiations with Rostelecom are undergoing partnerships.

He later told Interfax that the transaction could be concluded within two weeks.

Mikhail Prokhorov negotiations regarding the sale of RBC reported RNS on April 11 on the resumption of the ONEKIM group. According to Vedomosti, Prokhorov and Berezkin fundamentally agreed on the transaction, and it can be signed before May 1. It was reported that Berezkin could attract Alexei Abakumov to the holding of the deputy general director of the Rumedia group. The group is now managing the Business FM radio station.

As VC.ru wrote , Prokhorov’s asset forces “powerful pressure” from the deputy head of the Russian Presidential Administration Alexei Gromov forces Prokhorov’s asset. He allegedly considered the “personal insult” of the publication of RBC about protest rallies and a note on changing the agenda of federal television channels.
