To fully protect detainees in courts, we need the help of savvy and professionally trained volunteers. Therefore, on April 26 at 19:00, the Memorial Human Rights Center, together with OVD-Info , the Sitting Russia movement and the Public Verdict Foundation, will hold a practical seminar for lawyers on protecting the right to freedom of assembly.
In three weeks, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow has already held about 500 administrative trials of those detained on March 26. There are still hundreds of cases ahead in the district court, and then hundreds of proceedings in the Moscow City Court. This is a lot, and without the active participation of civil society we cannot help detainees: most detainees encounter the judicial system for the first time and need legal assistance.
There are still about 600 trials ahead of those detained on March 26, where defense attorneys with appropriate practical and theoretical training will be greatly needed. We invite to the seminar lawyers and future lawyers studying in senior courses, lawyers, civil activists who wish to participate in the legal defense of those detained on March 26 in Moscow.

Seminar participants will have the opportunity to undergo practical training in tandem with experienced lawyers directly in preparation for court proceedings and to participate in the actual process of defending detainees in court.
