Are you Semyon?

The OVD-Info publishes the story of the Sochi human rights activist Semyon Simonov, who specializes in the help of migrants. Recently he was detained in Volgograd. Simonov was detained when he was going to meet the workers of one of the local companies on the issue of compliance with their labor rights.

On April 16, in the city of Volgograd at about 10:30, three police officers in uniform approached me on the street. Together with them there was one person without a form who turned to me: "Are you Semyon?" Following this, I was delivered to the police department No. 4. There, police lieutenant Alexei Didenko compiled a report, where he explained the delivery to the department with the need to "establish a personality and involvement in the crimes committed." The real reason was that the police chief demanded that he postpone everything and take up me. Nobody began to report who the person who called my name was without a form.

They continued to hold me in the police department for three hours, despite the fact that it was not required to establish my identity, since it was known who I was, and also given that the police received information from the database quite quickly (in less than half an hour), where I can see that I was not wanted and was not involved in any crimes during my stay in the department scanned my fingerprints at the papilon (electronic dactyloscoping system), demanded a passport and tried to tear out of their hands, and also conducted inspection of things and personal inspection, and without issuing, despite the repeated request, a copy of the protocol. During the inspection by Sergeant Stanislav Skvortsov, in addition to the two witnesses, two operatives were present. One of them is Stanislav Captainchuk. During the conversation with him, it was confirmed that there was no business in relation to me, but he tried to find out when I arrived and when I plan to leave Volgograd, for what purpose I arrived, where I stopped, for what purpose I took pictures in the city, and also demanded to give out the recorder and the camera to make sure of something.

I refused to answer all his questions, and also give him what he demanded. Since there were no grounds for holding me in the department, and also expired for three hours, which the police could somehow explain to the “personality establishment”, I got up and went to the door. Then Capancycks jumped up from his chair, grabbed my hand and demanded to return. He immediately informed the police officers of the police department and the police department of the Volgograd region attended by force. After this incident, the grille was opened and I was able to leave the building of the police department.

I associate the incident with the activities of the protection of human rights. Recently, the main reason for such attention from law enforcement agencies is to participate in protest activity, but I have no relation to it.
