Several cubic meters of garbage accumulated on the surface of the water at the mouth of Ushaika, opposite the administration building of the Tomsk region. Basically, these are plastic containers that the townspeople threw somewhere on the banks of Ushaika during the winter. Together with the meltwater, the garbage fell into the river, and the current brought it to the “Governor's Quarter”. The ice jam formed at the mouth of the Ushaika prevents the garbage from floating into the Tom River (and then into the Ob) and spreading throughout the entire territory of the Tomsk region. Maybe it makes sense to collect garbage now? Or let it float?

UPD: At the time of publication of this material, Alexey Kichigin, assistant to the deputy of the Legislative Duma of the Tomsk Region, Vasily Semkin, called the TV2 editorial office. Kichigin said that in the coming days (most likely on Friday, April 21) garbage collection will be organized at the mouth of Ushaika. According to him, Regional Committee for Nature Protection specialists and volunteers intend to take part in cleaning the river from debris. The director of the Slaviansky Bazaar restaurant, Anastasia Krivenko, also announced her readiness to help clean up Ushayka.
