GTSIA holds a competition for sound artists and composers

Until May 15, the State Center for Contemporary Art as part of the State Museum and Exhibition Center of Rosiso (GCSI) accepts applications from sound artists and composers to participate in his new project “Audiovisual Experks”.

The first session of the project - “Red Space” - is devoted to sound representation of red. The project will become part of the parallel program of the exhibition “ Russian Red ordinary”, which will open on May 29 in the space of the GTSIA on Zoological, 13.

The project “Experiments of the audiovisual” (curator - Natalya Fuchs), which is primarily exploring sound expressive means and principles, is repelled from the concept of synesthesia, and in the “Red Space” affects the area of ​​color music interpretations and the search for non -standard artistic solutions.

Electro -acoustic compositions, field notes, vocal or instrumental essays, experimental sound works - everything that connects visually, semantically and substantial sound and red color as one of the main colors of the spectrum and historical symbols of Russian culture - can be proposed for implementation within one of the events of a parallel program.

Applications are accepted at audiovision.ncca@gmail.com marked "Red space - become a participant." The application should include sound files (stereo in .Wav format), text materials, concepts of sound installations, concerts, performances or audiovisual representations corresponding to the subject of the project. The number of applications from one author and the duration of the work are not limited.

The results will be published no later than May 18 on the website of the GTSIS.

The best works will receive support for the implementation in the space of the GCCI in zoological: they can be presented as independent events in the May-July in the small hall of the GTSIS, or are included in the archive of collective sound installation, which is created by the exhibition “ RUSSIAN RED Ordinary” sound artist Julia Glukhova.
