Near Kurgan, two employees of a rehabilitation center, arrested for imprisoning 30 drug addicts, were released on bail

The Kurgan Regional Court released from custody two of the four employees of the Iris paid rehabilitation center, accused of illegally imprisoning more than 30 drug addicts.

“The court decided to release from custody representatives of the Iris rehabilitation center for alcohol and drug addiction, Pavel Torokhtiya and Dmitry Yushkov,” the court office told Interfax. According to the agency's interlocutor, during the investigation they will remain under recognizance not to leave.

Two more defendants in this case remain in custody. The question of changing his preventive measure will be considered on Tuesday.

According to investigators, Iris employees illegally imprisoned and detained more than 30 people who arrived for paid rehabilitation. At the same time, methods of physical and moral coercion were used against them. A case was initiated against the employees under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code (unlawful deprivation of liberty).

A former patient of the center claims that his boss is a former law enforcement officer with large debts.
