Leonid Mikhelson again tops the Russian Forbes rating

Co-owner of Russia's largest private gas production company Novatek , Leonid Mikhelson, for the second year in a row, topped the ranking of the 200 richest businessmen in the country according to Forbes. According to the magazine, his fortune was $18.4 billion.

The second place was taken by the owner of Severstal Alexey Mordashov, who last year was only in sixth position. According to the magazine, his fortune is $17.5 billion (plus $6.6 billion for the year).

Third place in the Forbes ranking went to the owner of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, Vladimir Lisin, who rose from eighth place. His fortune is estimated at $16.1 billion.

Businessman Arkady Rotenberg moved up 36 places compared to 2016, taking 39th place. Forbes estimated his fortune at $2.6 billion, while in 2016 his fortune was estimated at $1 billion (75th place).

For the first time, the founder of VKontakte and Telegram, Pavel Durov, entered the top 100 with his fortune growing to $950 million.

Forbes notes that the total wealth of the 200 richest Russians over the year grew by $100 billion to $460 billion. At the same time, the number of dollar billionaires in the country increased from 77 to 96.
