An offshore zone may be created in Crimea

The Crimean authorities are discussing a project to create an offshore zone on the territory of the republic, RBC reported , citing a source. The information was confirmed by the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov. “Such a project is being discussed,” he said in an interview with RBC .

“This idea is currently under discussion. It is discussed by strategic ministries, in particular the Ministry of Economic Development. There were proposals from the deputy corps, and from members of the Federation Council, and from members of the Russian government - to find a convenient option that has not yet worked anywhere and which could be used for the first time in Crimea. We have not yet come to a common understanding,” Aksenov explained.

According to the publication’s source, this is necessary for the legal format of storing information about investors in Crimea.
