Judge of the Vologda City Court Marina Zaitseva on April 20 fined activist Sergei Gorodishenin under part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for 10,000 rubles. He reported this to OVD-Info.
The court considered it an administrative violation that Gorodishenin brought a poster "It's time to leave, Dimon!" to an agreed rally on March 16 in honor of the annexation of Crimea. According to Gorodishenin, “suddenly” it turned out that the event, which was attended by people with the flags of United Russia, where pro-government slogans sounded, was still not a rally, but a “meeting”, which, just as the police officers pointed out in court, does not imply posters, banners and speeches.
“The congregation came about in a wonderful way. I can only assume that all this happened in hindsight in order to condemn me. First, the organizers submitted an application for the rally, all the media told about the rally, and I came with my friends to the rally. The rally, which was in the application by the organizers for 500 people, was approved. Then, miracles begin here, the organizers decided to change the rally to the form of the meeting, which does not provide for party symbols, slogans from the stage, or posters. Employees (police) told me at the trial that they did not see violations, including flags, ”Gorodishenin notes.
The court also did not satisfy Gorodishenin's petition to postpone the meeting in order to search for a defense counsel. The activist will appeal the court's decision. for the same poster At the same rally-meeting, Igor Filippov was detained .
