Activist Ildar Dadin, convicted of repeated pickets, demanded compensation for 5 million rubles for illegal criminal prosecution. This was announced by TASS by his lawyer Ksenia Kostromina.
“A lawsuit against compensation for harm caused by illegal prosecution, as well as maintenance under house arrest and detention for more than two years,” she said.
Ildar Dadin became the first and only convict under the article on repeated violations at rallies. In 2015, he was sentenced to three years in prison, but later the term was reduced to two and a half years. In early February 2017, the Constitutional Court demanded to revise the verdict to the activist and recognized the onset of criminal liability only on the basis of the repeated offense of the contradictory constitution.
Dadin was released on February 26 after the Supreme Court canceled his sentence. After the release of Kostromin, she said that they would seek payment of compensation and rehabilitation. He later received a letter with an apology from the Altai colony.
