A hundred years ago, on April 22, 1917, at the regional congress of authorized representatives from the settlements of the Kuban in Ekaterinodar, the Kuban Rada was created - a self-governing body of the Kuban Cossack army, subordinate to the Provisional Government. In January 1918, she proclaimed an independent Kuban People's Republic with its capital in Yekaterinodar, and later supported the Volunteer Army.
