New WADA informant from Russia disqualified for doping

Russian sprinter Alexander Hutte, who informed the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) about cases of use of prohibited drugs by domestic athletes, has been disqualified for four years. This was reported by the press service of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF).

This decision was made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The athlete was found guilty of violating anti-doping rules. His suspension dates back to 5 August 2015, when Hütte was suspended from competition. Thus, all results shown by Hutte from May 22, 2015 to August 4, 2015 will be canceled. He will be able to compete again from August 6, 2019.

Previously, the media reported that Alexander Hutte corresponded with WADA and the IAAF in 2015, in which he accused his coach Zukhra Vereshchagina of receiving a positive test result. The athlete also named the names of teammates who, in his opinion, use prohibited drugs and asked for a reduction in the period of disqualification.

In March, WADA launched a whistleblower support mobile app, Speak Up! through which anyone can report anti-doping rule violations.
