Prisoner Ruslan Vakhapov, who is in Yaroslavl colony No. 1, where Ivan Nepomnyashchikh, convicted in the Bolotnaya case, is also serving his sentence, said that during searches in the colony, he was beaten by masked FSIN officers. The lawyer of the human rights foundation “Public Verdict”, Irina Biryukova, reported this after a meeting with Vakhapov.
According to Biryukova , Vakhapov has abrasions from handcuffs - after the beating, he was dragged by handcuffs to a punishment cell. There are bruises on his calves and thigh, and there is also a suspicion of a concussion.
Vakhapov himself told human rights activists that he was thrown onto a concrete floor, kicked and beaten with sticks on the soft parts of his body. At the same time, doctors ignored complaints of a concussion.
According to fund employee Oleg Novikov, information has also been received about the beating of five more prisoners, including Ivan Nepomnyashchikh, but this has not yet been confirmed. Biryukova intends to hold meetings with them.
The day before it became known about searches in the colony, which were carried out by FSIN officers wearing masks. The released Alexander Margolin, convicted in the same case as Nepomnyashchikh, reported the beating of one of the prisoners.
There is no reliable information about the beating of Nepomniachtchi yet. It is known that he was placed in a particularly isolated part of the colony - the “island”, where he cannot communicate with other prisoners.
