Sonya prize for two and a half years. She was born in a prosperous Moscow family, where her older brother Dan was waiting for her appearance with her mother and dad. A few months after birth, it turned out that Sonya had spinal muscular dystrophy (SMA) of the first type-the most severe appearance of this incurable genetic disease. Children with such a diagnosis cannot walk, sit, hold toys in their hands, and then completely stop breathing on their own.

It was very difficult to believe that Sonya cannot be helped. Parents went to the Marfo-Mariinsky monastery to pray for the health of their daughter and there they met a doctor who invited them to the Clinic SMA, to get acquainted with specialists and other families in whose life this disease was included. Sonya was the smallest patient, and it was impossible to accept that the pink -haired smiling girl should be put in the hospital right now, put the tube in the throat and a pipe in the stomach. It was decided to live an ordinary life at home.

But one night, Sonya stopped breathing, the ambulance took her to the hospital. Parents were not allowed into intensive care for a long time, and then they said that part of the brain cells died due to hypoxia. Sonya does not see and cannot breathe herself, for her it does the apparatus of the artificial ventilation of the lungs (IVL), which the children's hospice managed to acquire thanks to private donations. Sonina's mother says that by the facial expressions of her daughter it is difficult to understand how she feels, but the girl always calms down from her mother’s touch.

Now Sonya is at home with her parents and brother. Mom learned to all medical and resuscitation manipulations to take care of her daughter, but the main thing is that she can hug and kiss the girl at any moment, hold her hand in her, calm down when it is painful or scary to Sonya.

The family of Sony needs 50 thousand rubles. per month for servicing the IVL apparatus and consumables.

The fee is declared 300 thousand rubles, so that Sonya could live at home for six months and be near relatives.
