
The US Air Force will send the F-35 American fighters to Estonia. It is reported by CNN.
As stated with reference to official sources, F-35A fighters will be sent to Estonia from the UK in the coming days. Also, the fighter will be strengthened by NATO contingent in Romania.
F -35 is the latest, inconspicuous fifth -generation fighter, this is the last model of fighters used by the US Air Force. Prior to this, such models of American aircraft as the F-22, F-16, F-15 and A-10 were sent to Europe.
NATO forces in Europe are equipped with airplanes as part of the initiative to ensure the security of European countries (European Reassurace). This military program was started after the annexation of Crimea in March 2014.
The USA claims that sending fighters to Europe did not become a reaction to a particular case. "Since this aircraft is in service with us and our partners, it is important for us to train together to create a united team capable of protecting the sovereignty of allied countries," General Tod Walters, the F -35 fighter, said the US Air Force Commander in Europe.
