The United States is planning to ban passengers from carrying laptops in the cabin of planes from Europe.

The US administration is going to ban passengers arriving on flights from Europe from taking laptops and other large electronic devices in hand luggage. This is reported by The Guardian, citing a source in the UK government.

Gillian Christensen, spokesman for the US Department of Homeland Security, said no final decision had yet been made on the matter.

According to The Guardian, the ban could be similar to the one that the US Transportation Security Administration introduced in March 2017 in relation to passengers on flights from the Middle East.

Passengers flying from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates must check in all electronic devices larger than a phone. At the same time, it is allowed to take medical devices into the salon.
