Russia began the supply of electricity to the LPR

The Russian government decided to provide the Luhansk region with electricity “within the framework of humanitarian support” after Ukraine ceased to be the supply of the region.

This was reported to "Interfax" by the envoy of the Russian Federation in the contact group in Ukraine Boris Gryzlov.

According to him, "for the inhabitants of Donbass in the context of a conscious economic blockade from Ukraine there is no opportunity to pay for electricity."

Gryzlov added that "there are currently no restrictions on consumers in the territory of the Luhansk region."

As the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said, the decision of Kyiv to disconnect the Lugansk region from the power supply is “another step towards Ukraine’s rejection from its territories”.

“Of course, Russia before, based on humanitarian reasons, did and do a lot to help minimize the consequences for the people who live in the Donbass, policies to reject their own lands that Kyiv pursues,” Peskov said (all quotes for Interfax).

Earlier, the official representative of the self -proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic Vladislav Demol was announced about the supply of electricity from Russia.

Kiev announced the cessation of the power supply of uncontrolled territories of the Luhansk region from midnight on April 25. Director of the Lugansk Energy Association (LEO) Vladimir Gritsai explained that the company did not receive electricity payment.

As Gritsai specified , several Ukrainian villages were also left without light, they promise to return electricity until the end of the day on April 25.

Kommersant noted that LEO is the only electricity supplier to Kiev, which was not controlled by the territory of the Luhansk region.
