The arrest of Ukrainian journalist Suschenko was extended until June 30

The judge of the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow Margarita Kotov extended to the Ukrainian journalist Roman Suschenko, who was arrested in Russia in the “spy” case, the term of maintenance in jail for another two months - until June 30. This was reported by the correspondent of "faces" from the courtroom.

The hearings were held closed, since the journalist’s case has the Grif “Top Secret”. According to the lawyer of Policezek Mark Feigin, Kotova refused to allow the Genconsul of Ukraine in Moscow Gennady Brekalenko to participate in the process as a public defender. At the admission of Breskalenko, the lawyer also insisted on his previous hearing on the extension of Suschenko of the arrest that took place in January, however, at that time, Judge Anna Zhurman rejected the petition.

Feigin also said that the FSB investigator sought to be the arrest for two, but for three, but for three months. Why Kotova issued a decision on a shorter period, the lawyer did not explain.

Suschenko is 48 years old, he is the Paris correspondent of the Ukrinform agency. On September 30, 2016, the journalist arrived in Moscow in a private case and was immediately detained . The FSB charges him Article 276 of the Criminal Code (espionage), which provides for 10 to 20 years of the colony.

Roman Suschenko: Journalist hostage
