In Kaliningrad, 12 alleged members of the terrorist organization “Islamic Jamaat - Mujahideen Jamaat” were detained, reports a message from the FSB department for the Kaliningrad region. RIA Novosti

“During a special operation, operatives detained 12 immigrants from the republics of Central Asia, who are members of a cell of the international terrorist organization “Islamic Jihad - Mujahideen Jamaat” banned in the Russian Federation, possibly involved in recruitment activities in the interests of an international terrorist organization,” the special service reported.

It is alleged that the alleged leader of the organization’s branch was wanted by law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan for an “extremist crime” and was recruiting residents of the region. According to the FSB, the 32-year-old man confessed, including about the participation of his relatives in terrorist organizations.

It is noted that the detained foreigners are planned to be deported “to the country from which they came” to be prosecuted for “crimes of a terrorist nature.”

FSB representative Natalya Panyushkina clarified to Vesti that the arrests took place at two addresses on Proletarskaya and Bogdan Khmelnitsky streets. The detainees were in Kaliningrad for four years.
