Twenty years ago, on April 28, 1997, an explosion occurred in the waiting room of the railway station in Pyatigorsk, as a result of which two people died and 30 were injured, and the station building was partially destroyed. The attack was carried out by Chechens Aset Dadasheva and Fatima Taymaskhanova. In 1999, Taimaskhanova was sentenced to 19 years in prison and Dadasheva to 16. They claimed to have acted on the orders of Salman Raduev.
