In Yakutia, an activist was detained for a single picket

The leader of the Narodnaya Volya movement, Erel Vasiliev, was detained for a solitary picket not far from the route of the May Day demonstration in Yakutsk. This was reported on the website of the Internet newspaper "Yakutia. Info".

With his one-man picket, Vasiliev wanted to announce a rally planned for May 30 against an increase in housing and communal services tariffs:

I was standing about 50 meters from the traffic lights and 10 meters from the road along which the festive procession took place. Nobody interfered with anything, did not provoke. Police officers approached me and began to interrogate me for what purpose I went to the picket. I explained that the right to a solo picket without notification was guaranteed to me by law and there were no laws prohibiting it. They listened to me and left. But then, with other employees, a man approached me, introducing himself as an employee of the administration, Ruslan Timofeev, and asked to be detained. The police, apparently, obeyed and began to fulfill his request.

The police did not draw up a protocol against the activist, but simply took explanations.

On April 27, Vasiliev was also detained during a one-man picket dedicated to the problem of raising tariffs - he was also released from the police without a protocol.
