The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) urged all shareholders to reject the new proposal of Russia on lifting sanctions.
The head of the bank Suma Chakrabarty said that Moscow wants the issue of canceling the ban on investment in Russia to be considered at the annual meeting of the EBRD leadership in the future week in the capital of Cyprus Nicosia.
Despite the fact that over 3 years of anti -Russian sanctions, the bank’s portfolio has declined by almost 10 percent, the political situation over the past year has not changed dramatically, Chakrabarty emphasized .
Bank investments in Russia were frozen in 2014 - in response to the annexation of Crimea and the support of separatists in eastern Ukraine, the Kremlin support.
