Declared a short-list of the Turner Prize

Today, May 3, the finalists of the Turner Prize are named in London. Thanks to the abolition of age-related restrictions, this year there were veterans of the Black Art Scenes of Great Britain, 62-year-old Lyubain Chemist and 52-year-old Herwin Anderson.

According to BBC , the short list also includes the 55-year-old German native Andrea Buttner and a 43-year-old artist from London Rosalind Namshibi, who became the youngest applicant for the Turner Award of 2017.

The Turner Prize since 1984 has been awarded annually an artist working in the UK, for the best exhibition or other presentation of his work during the year. The finalists are chosen by the jury under the chairmanship of the director of the Gallery Tate.

Until 1991, an artist of any age could receive a bonus, but then the organizers decided to limit the age of the applicants 50 years.

Last year, a 31-year-old artist and sculptor Helen Marten became a laureate.

The winner of the Turner Prize of 2017 will be announced in Gulle on December 5.
