The Constitutional Court of Moldova recognized the country's stay in the territory of the Transnistrian district of the republic that was not relevant to the Basic Law of the country. It is reported by Deutsche Welle.

At the same time, it is noted in the decision, "about 11 percent of the territory of Moldova is occupied, and the Russian army was not withdrawn from the Transnistrian region."

In addition, the Constitutional Court concluded that "the principle of neutrality does not interfere with the participation of Moldova in peacekeeping operations and military exercises aimed at increasing the combat effectiveness of the army in order to ensure the security of the country."

Two years ago, the Liberal Party of Moldova appealed to the Constitutional Court with a demand to recognize the presence of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Transnistria as unlawful.
