The Investigative Committee of the Murmansk Region is checking publications about the management of the Zapolyarye restaurant in Apatity, which locks its employees at night, according to the department’s website.
According to the Investigative Committee, on the night of May 3, restaurant employees called an ambulance for their 47-year-old colleague, who became ill at work. Paramedics who arrived at the scene were unable to immediately help her because the restaurant door was locked from the outside.
The department is conducting a pre-investigation check, and a decision will be made based on its results.

Restaurant employees told the Khibinformburo agency that management closes the doors at night to prevent theft.
“There used to be a watchman here, sitting and guarding. Then he quit. Now we are isolated here during the night shift. They lock us up in the evening and let us out in the morning. They say not to steal food,” they said.
Later, the head of the Apatity administration, Nikolai Bova, informed the agency that an order had been signed to dismiss the director of the Zapolyarye municipal unitary enterprise, Galina Muratova.
