A report was drawn up against a Communist Party activist in Samara in connection with the May Day demonstration

In Samara, a protocol was drawn up against the first secretary of the city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Damir Stalin (Biktagirov), under Part 1 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (Violation by the organizer of a public event of the established procedure for organizing a demonstration) as the organizer of the May Day demonstration. Regnum news agency reports this.

As Samara Provincial Duma deputy Mikhail Matveev told the agency, the police found a violation in the fact that a group of people brought posters to the demonstration that were “not agreed upon with the organizers of the event.” In particular, we are talking about a poster demanding the resignation of Governor Nikolai Merkushkin, which was also carried by Damir Stalin.

Matveev noted that the demonstration was organized by trade unions and coordinated with the authorities. “We did not expect such nonsense, that the police would name Stalin as the organizer of the march,” he told the agency.

Stalin was detained on May 1 along with two other Communist Party activists. Then all the detainees were released, their passport details were copied and explanatory notes were taken.

According to him, the police “formally see” signs of Article 20.2 in the fact that a group of citizens brought posters “not agreed with the organizers of the event” to the May Day demonstration.
