From the outside it may seem that the absentee process over the former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is just the fun of the authorities, an attempt to build a good mine in a bad game. Yanukovych himself is not going to court, he is under the reliable protection of his owner and patron Vladimir Putin, the money stolen from Ukrainians lives - at least the part that he managed to remove from the country during the Maidan. What is this court? Some conversations.

But in fact, this is not just an absentee process. This is a precedent. The precedent reminiscent that the first person in the state may be jurisd with that the former president is responsible for his deeds - even in absentia. At the same time, Yanukovych - and this is the most important thing - recognizes the legitimacy of the court. Yes, he is not at his meetings, but he hired lawyers and constantly strives to communicate with the judges virtually. So this is a real court. Real for Ukrainians, real for Yanukovych. And real for Russia. Because the Russian media will not be able to - and they will not want to soak this process. And even if they cover it in a propaganda spirit, the fact of the jurisdiction of the former president will not go anywhere. And this means that the fate of Yanukovych can expect each of the overthrown celestials. And even Putin? Putin - first of all.

Ukrainians and their friends in the West have the illusion that Putin is very afraid of the economic success of Ukraine as an example for Russia. In my opinion, Putin does not care about the economic success of Ukraine. He knows very well that in the eyes of most of his subjects, Ukraine is just a rebellious province, shackled by the Americans. And it does not matter at all whether she will have success there or not. The main thing is that sooner or later, Khokhlov needs to be returned back to the stall, poor or rich, we will not stand at the price and so on.

But the trial of the authorities is really scary. Precisely because in the eyes of most Russians Ukraine is almost Russia. And that means what can be “younger brothers” can almost certainly afford the “elders”.

Putin wanted to destroy Ukraine after the Maidan, not because he was scared by the European integration of Ukraine or its entry into NATO, but because the Kremlin sought at all costs to avoid parallelism in relation to power. Because the Khokhls lost fear and went to storm not only government residences, but also of government dachas. Because one of the main symbols of the Maidan’s victory was the Mezhigorye, the state residence stolen by a high -ranking “Urkagan” was selected from Yanukovych. Yanukovych held on her hands and teeth, and this was just what was understandable to Putin and thousands of little Putin - thieving Russian officials.

For people who do not live for the sake of political victories and success of the state, but for the sake of money, cottages, cars, yachts and aircraft, the worst thing is that the "people" will be able to take away from them. That the "people" will be able to judge them and bear them - untouchable - sentences. That is why it was so important to destroy Ukraine. And why, after Putin did not succeed, the absentee process over Yanukovych began. That is, in fact, the absentee process over Putin himself, over the model of sacredness and the irresponsibility of power built by him.

This court is another confirmation that Putin will hold on to power by all possible means, up to the organization of new wars in the world and civil conflicts in Russia itself. He is not one of those who change money and cottages on the bench of the defendants.
