The House of US Representatives adopted a bill on new sanctions against the DPRK. The text of the bill is published on the congress website.

In particular, the document prohibits the courts of the DPRK and countries that do not comply with the UN Security Council resolution in its regard to be in American waters and ports of the United States. For this, it is supposed to identify violations in the ports of Vladivostok, finds and Vanino in Russia, Syrian ports in Latakia and Tartus, two ports in China and the International Airport in Tehran.

In addition, the bill proposes to give the US border guards and customs officers the right to inspect cargoes on ships that have passed the ports that have repeatedly violated the sanctions, as well as cargoes on sea and aircraft, which visited the DPRK ports and airports during the year.

New trading restrictions introduced by the bill suggest a ban on the import of manufacturers in the United States using the "slave labor" of workers from North Korea.

In addition, the document obliges the US President Donald Trump within 90 days after its adoption to decide whether the DPRK is the state of terrorism. If North Korea is recognized as such a state, this will entail new sanctions against it, including the restriction of international assistance that Washington provides for Pyongyan.

According to the Associated Press, 419 congressmen voted for the document, one opposed. Now the document must approve the Senate.

The head of the Committee on Defense and Security of the Council, Viktor Ozerov, called the bill "absurd." According to Ozerov, Russia "not only in its ports, but also in territorial waters without permission." The senator assured that Moscow is fulfilling the UN Security Council on sanctions against the DPRK. In turn, a member of the defense committee of the Upper House of Parliament, Alexei Pushkov, said that Russia would not allow control over its ports, calling the bill a "military time" and "gross violation of international law".

On March 21, it was reported that Washington was preparing a new package of sanctions against North Korea due to the ongoing development of nuclear weapons and delivery products. The American authorities considered the opportunity to turn off the DPRK from the global financial system, as well as introduce restrictions against a number of organizations and banks located in China, providing foreign trade in the DPRK.
