Demushkin's defense filed an appeal against the verdict

Defense nationalist Dmitry Demushkin May 5 filed an appeal against the sentence, according to which he received 2.5 years in a penal colony. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Demushkin's lawyer Oleg Kolesnikov.

On April 25, the Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Dmitry Demushkin to two and a half years in prison, accused of inciting hatred and enmity using the Internet.

According to investigators, in October 2014, Demushkin posted two extremist graphic images in open access on his page on one of the social networks on the Internet in order to incite hatred and enmity towards a certain group of people. According to the Moscow prosecutor's office, in this way the nationalist committed a crime, the responsibility for which is provided for by Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).
