Opposition leader Alexei Navalny underwent ophthalmological surgery in a clinic in Barcelona, Spain. He wrote about this on his Instagram.
According to him, the operation took place on May 8.
“My vision, I was told, unfortunately, will take several months to recover. So far, with my right eye I can only see the first line (where those W and B are). When I asked to have X-ray or infrared vision installed, the hospital responded with a categorical refusal. Another manifestation of Russophobia,” the politician said.
The fact that Navalny flew abroad became known on May 7. A few days before, he was given a foreign passport, which he could not obtain for five years.
At the end of April, unknown persons splashed green paint in Navalny’s face as he was leaving a Moscow business center. After the attack, he was diagnosed with a chemical burn to his eye.
The attack with brilliant green paint was allegedly carried out by activists of the SERB movement , who were identified in a video recording published by the REN-TV channel.
Moscow police opened a case of attack against Navalny; According to Vedomosti , this happened on April 29.
