Open Russia coordinator was fined for the “Fed up” protest in St. Petersburg

The Petrogradsky District Court fined Open Russia coordinator Andrei Pivovarov 18 thousand rubles for organizing the “Fed up” event on April 29, he announced this on Facebook.

“The court did not take into account our arguments with Svetlana Ratnikova that filing applications with executive authorities is in no way an offense, and the movement of people without symbols along the street is not a procession. What can we say about such little things as the recognition of the 15-meter distance by the procession and the drawing up of detention protocols by completely different people who actually carried out the detention,” he wrote, noting that the decision is planned to be appealed.

Pivovarov noted that the box with appeals to the president was recognized as material evidence, and it will be returned when the decision comes into force.

The “Fed up” action took place in more than 10 cities of Russia; the largest number of arrests took place in St. Petersburg; protocols were drawn up for 72 participants in the action. Activists noted that the protest was dispersed by force.
