A lawyer was allowed to see Ivan Nepomnyashchikh, convicted in the Bolotnaya case, and two other prisoners of IK-1 of the Yaroslavl Region, Ruslan Vakhapov and Yevgeny Makarov, who complained of beatings. This happened after a four-hour wait, according to the Public Verdict Foundation.
At the same time, the lawyer managed to talk only with Nepomniachtchi, after which she was asked to leave the colony, saying that the working day was over.
On April 21, a special unit of the Federal Penitentiary Service entered the territory of IK-1, whose employees beat those who were at that time in the colony's isolation ward. Before that, it became known that Nepomnyashchikh was placed in a penal colony for 7 days. Despite the requirements of the ECtHR, on May 2 defenders were not allowed to see the beaten prisoners . On April 28, information appeared that Nepomniachtchi was never released from the ShIZO, and eight more days of imprisonment were added to him there.
On May 6, the ECHR again demanded that Russia allow a lawyer to see Nepomniachtchi.
