Ivan Nepomnyashchikh left the punishment cell

Convicted in the Bolotnaya case, Ivan Nepomnyashchikh, who spent 21 days in ShIZO IK-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Yaroslavl Region, has left the isolation ward. This is reported on his Facebook page by his lawyer Irina Biryukova.

On April 20 , it became known that Nepomniachtchi was placed in a punishment cell, allegedly for failing to comply with the lights out command. According to another person involved in the Bolotnaya case, Alexander Margolin, who had already been released, the next day after Nepomniachtchi was placed in the detention center in the colony, a general camp search took place, in which, in addition to the colony employees, the Federal Penitentiary Service in special uniforms and masks took part, ensuring security and control . Usually they are used to intimidate prisoners or to exercise physical pressure on them.

In the solitary confinement, the “masks” beat many prisoners, but only three — Nepomnyashchikh, Ruslan Vakhapov and Yevgeny Makarov — reported that they had been subjected to unlawful use of force. These three were placed in a specially isolated part of the ShIZO - the "island", in order to deprive them of the opportunity to contact the will.

Margolin also said that in ShIZO IK-1, ordinary prisoners are given food from dishes for the “offended” - representatives of the lower prison caste who cannot be touched. Prisoners refuse to eat from these utensils and are forced to sit on bread and water - these foods can be consumed without using utensils. Such behavior of the colony administration may indicate that it is deliberately confronting the prisoners.

Nepomniachtchi were twice given another 8 and 6 days of ShIZO additionally.

Makarov was transferred to EPKT (a single cell-type room), that is, the regime of detention was tightened for him. Vakhapov was given another 5 days of isolation. According to Biryukova, because of the hunger strike, everyone is very exhausted, Vakhapov's hands are shaking, he is sick of hunger.
