The publication of the complete collection of the diaries of Olga Bergholts began

On May 18, the Gulag History Museum in Moscow will be a lecture “Olga Bergholz: early years and heritage”, dedicated to the release of the first volume of the full meeting of the poetess’s diaries, which she led from 1923 to 1971.

The last few years in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art (RGALI), work has been conducted to prepare for the publication of the full corps of diaries. In 2015, by the 70th anniversary of the Victory as a special publishing project, wartime diaries (the so-called “Blockade Diary” ), which received the Grand Prix of the annual national contest “Book of the Year” , were published.

The diaries included in the first volume allow us to trace the process of the transition of the poetess worldview from Christian principles brought up from childhood, to the Komsomol enthusiasm of the 1920s, to the devotion of the socialist ideology of the Soviet state. On the pages of diaries, the period of the entry of Olga Bergholz into the literature is described in detail, the first experimental artistic texts were recorded.

“The diaries allow you to explore the ratio of various genres in the creative heritage of Olga Bergholz, to identify new facts of its biography, to significantly expand knowledge in the field of Russian literature and culture of the first half of the 20th century. - It is said in the annotation of the book on the website of the publishing house "Kuchkovo Field" . -Equipped with scientific historical and textual comments, as well as a large number of unique illustrations, diaries are the result of many years of scientific work of the collective of archivists, philologists and literary critics.
