Russia lost to the USA at the World Hockey Championship

The Russian national hockey team lost to the Americans at the World Championship. The match ended with a score of 5:3 in favor of the US team.

The Russians took the lead three times in the match, but the Americans equalized each time. In the middle of the third period, playing in the majority, the US team scored the fourth puck. The Russians missed the fifth in the last minute of the match, when they replaced the goalkeeper with the sixth field player.

• According to the results of the group stage of the World Cup, the Russian team took second place in the group, losing one point to the Americans. The defeat from the United States was the only one for the Russians: they had previously beaten Sweden, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Slovakia and Latvia.
