At the end of April, five men were arrested in St. Petersburg, who are accused of raping the pupils of one of the St. Petersburg orphanages for years. Those arrested themselves, including a seventy-year-old honored teacher of Russia, do not admit their guilt; their colleagues and relatives also claim that those arrested have been slandered. Violence, according to various sources, was reported by at least eight people; one of them claims to be threatened. Meduza presents an audio version of a text by Maksim Yarygin, an Echo of Moscow in St. Petersburg journalist, about sexual violence in an orphanage. The text is read by Andrey Kozenko.
