The Rain Correspondent Mikhail Rubin complained about the hacking of two mailboxes, as well as Facebook and Telegram accounts. He himself told “Varlamov.ru” about this.
According to him, hacking occurred on the night of May 19. First, crackers changed the password in the box on Mail.Ru, then on Gmail and Facebook. Rubin regained his access to Facebook, and to Gmail - after the crackers pumped out his entire archive from there. “I learned about the hacking of Telegram later when I went into the settings,” the journalist added.
Rubin suggested that the crackers were looking for data on sources close to the Kremlin in his personal information. It was they who referred to them when he wrote notes that in the administration of the President of the Russian Federation it was decided to launch a campaign to discredit oppositionist Alexei Navalny (and fight him “like Hitler”), as well as about the clip of the former soloist of Leningrad Alice Voks about the opposition rallies (who, according to Rubin’s interlocutors, was the ex-employee of the presidential administration Nikita Ivanov).
On his Facebook, Rubin wrote that his “informed acquaintances” said: the hacking of his mail is “hello” from the “rain” dissatisfied with the news. In connection with a hack, he intends to contact the FSB.
